Dan founded Shared Tower in 2021, following the success of Shared Network Canada, which he built from bootstrapped startup to a Province-wide network of communications towers. Dan has been an entrepreneur in technology and telecommunications for most of his career, with brief soujorns in executive roles, in which it always became painfully clear that he was better at starting companies than working for them. Dan received his BA/MA from the University of Oxford and his Master's degree from the University of British Columbia.
Marty Pinnes is Chief Operating Officer at Shared Tower. In this role, Marty manages a range of day-to-day functions supporting the performance of the company. Prior to Shared Tower, Marty was the Vice President of Finance and Corporate Development at FlexNetworks, a facilities-based telecommunications company with operations in Ontario, Manitoba and Saskatchewan. Prior to FlexNetworks, Marty was a Senior Portfolio Manager at Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, overseeing investments in the telecommunications space. Martin received a degree in Mathematical Economics and Psychology from Colgate University.
Jane began her career in the education sector, and made the transition to telecommunications when she joined Shared Network Canada in 2017. At Shared Tower, Jane project manages the activities of our landlords, municipalities and tower tenants. Jane enjoys problem solving and naturally finds efficient ways to see to it that things run smoothly from start to finish. She holds both a Bachelor and Masters degrees from Bob Jones University.
Don has spent more than 40 years in telecommunications, including wireline and wireless roles at Bell Canada, Rogers Communications and Huawei. Don joined our team in 2018 as a Construction Manager, and ensures that our projects are completed in a timely, efficient manner. Don is also the face of Shared Tower for our landlords, and plays a critical role in ensuring we form long-term partnerships with the families and businesses who provide land for our infrastructure.
Kal has over 10 years of experience as a sales leader in the telecommunications industry. In his last role as VP of Sales at Beanfield, he was responsible for market development and the strategic growth of Beanfield Metroconnect’s Commercial and Residential Services, as the company built out the largest independent fibre network in Toronto and Montreal. Kal developed key partnerships with Global Data Center Operators, Internet Exchanges, CDNs & HyperScalers.
Daniel is a telecom product manager and business strategist with over 15+ years of experience. Before joining Shared Tower as the Chief Product & Strategy Officer, he was the Director of Cloud Strategy at Beanfield Metroconnect. Prior to working in telecom he was a strategic advisor for Canadian firms in the Financial Services, Legal, and Tech verticals delivering vCIO, technology investment planning, and cloud enablement strategies. Daniel is a University of Guelph alumnus.
Prior to joining Shared Tower, Cheyenne spent the early years of her career building her talent stack with experience in the real estate, manufacturing and servicing industries. She brings 10+ years of experience prioritizing client-based solutions, strategizing strong leadership skills, and utilizing creative problem solving to get the job done. Cheyenne enjoys a collaborative approach to incorporate different strengths, skills and professional experiences to enhance end results for all users. She obtained her Bachelor's degree from Wilfrid Laurier University and continues to involve herself in projects to increase her knowledge and personal growth.
Prior to joining Shared Tower, Chad spent 15 years working in the commercial interiors space, most recently as the first member of the commercial development team for Southern Alberta at Mackie Group. Chad has spent 15 years working with businesses, organizations, and stakeholders in achieving goals for their spaces on projects. Focused on the success of all parties, Chad builds relationships and seeks to understand how to deliver success for customers . Chad is client focused and enjoys using a collaborative and creative approach to find the best solution.
Price joined Shared Tower in 2022 as the Planning Manager for Western Canada. Prior to joining Shared Tower, Price worked as a municipal planner in Alberta and British Columbia. He earned his BA in Urban Planning at Concordia University in Montreal and his MSc. in Real Estate and Planning at Heriot-Watt University in Scotland. Price currently holds professional planning designations in Canada (Alberta and BC) and in the US.
Warren is a planning professional with over 20 years of experience using GIS and location-based intelligence. At Shared Tower, Warren will provide network planning, site analysis, and data services to support real estate activities and deployment. Warren was an essential contributor to launching and developing wireless commercial markets for Freedom Mobile and has done other telecom consulting. He has a Bachelor’s degree from Western University in Geography.
Corey has spent the past 7 years in the telecommunications industry with Roehampton Communications performing a variety of duties including inspections, drafting, engineering analysis, and construction management. Corey holds a Bachelor of Applied Science from the University of Toronto where he captained the men’s lacrosse team.
Faisal has been in the telecom space in North America for over 20 years. He has held various positions with Bell Mobility and Nortel Networks. His key focus has been RAN design, network performance, and leading cross functional teams to build out the network. Faisal joined Shared Tower in 2022 and strives to help our customers achieve their network goals. Faisal has a BASc in Electrical Engineering from the University of Toronto, a Masters in Business Administration from McMaster University, and is a licensed P.Eng. with the province of Ontario.
Filip is a senior Site Acquisition Specialist. He oversees and manages a large portfolio of sites across Canada. Filip has deep expertise in telecommunications real estate and construction, and is routinely relied upon for training new team members. Prior to joining Shared Tower, Filip worked alongside Shared Tower's CEO Daniel Gibbons in telecommunications consulting and network development for Canada's largest carriers.
Andrew joined Shared Tower as a Site Acquisition Specialist at the beginning of 2023. He brings his previous international experience of business development, startup launching and commercial property leasing to lead our real estate practice. Andrew is the first contact for the land owners to start building a long-term relationship with Shared Tower.
Akshay has over 6 years of experience as a structural engineer in the telecommunications industry. In his role, Akshay was responsible for performing structural analysis of telecommunication towers, rooftop-mounted antenna supporting structures, and reinforcement design. Akshay holds a Masters in Engineering from the University of Western Ontario and is a licensed professional engineer.
Jessica is a Site Acquisition Specialist at Shared Tower, she specializes in securing land lease agreements for telecommunications tower and asset development across Canada, forming the foundation of all infrastructure projects. Jessica works with a diverse range of landlords, including large REIT companies, private landlords and many municipalities to negotiate lease agreements and form long-term partnerships. By acquiring land for communication infrastructure development, Jessica enables long-term growth for the business. Combining strategic negotiation skills, a strong ability for collaboration and a natural talent for building lasting relationships, Jessica brings a unique and personable approach to each project at Shared Tower contributing to the long-term success and growth of the company.
Nilou joined Shared Tower in 2023 as its General Counsel and Head of Real Estate, overseeing its national leasing and municipal activities as well as its legal affairs. Before joining Shared Tower, Nilou practiced law at Grant Thornton LLP as in-house counsel. Prior to that, Nilou was a litigator at Lenczner Slaght LLP. Nilou's interests include houseplants, dodgeball, and uplevelling Shared Tower's office snacks.
Sandra is a Planning Coordinator at Shared Tower with a strong background in community planning. Prior to joining the team, she spent over 4 years at University of Toronto and Concordia University working with post-secondary students on various events and campus programming. Sandra’s passion to help others and community-building led her to complete a Bachelor’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning from Toronto Metropolitan University. She is passionate about personal growth and is currently working towards a Project Management Certification.
Peter brings over 40 years of construction experience with the last 26 in wireless communications, holding positions in Construction and Project Management along with Senior Strategy Manager for Telus. He was involved in the early start up of Clearnet and Public Mobile and managed the installations of over 400 roof top and tower site installations across Ontario and Montreal. Peter joined Shared Tower in 2023 and will continue building and maintaining lasting relationships with new and existing property owners for our tower sites along with creating our construction standards, managing tower procurement and improving internal processes for our construction team. He prides himself in keeping projects structured, on time and on budget with attention to detail.
Hubia serves as the Controller at Shared Tower. In this role, she oversees all financial operations, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives, as well as strategic financial planning and compliance management. Prior to joining Shared Tower, she has experience in diverse sectors, including Accounting Firm, Food Beverage, Safety Equipment, IT services, and Animal Health, that spanned from the US to Canada, enhancing her ability to navigate complex financial landscapes. This diverse background has equipped her with a unique perspective on financial management, tailored to support the complex and capital-intensive projects at Shared Tower. With a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master’s in Accountancy, her credentials underscore her expertise in navigating the complexities of the finance domain. Her versatile background equips her to effectively drive Shared Tower's financial strategies and objectives.
Brian is a market Expansion Executive at Shared Tower. Brian joined the company with a focus on business development for fibre optic projects. Point to point dark fibre projects are a key focus for Brian. He is also leading the charge at shared Tower to develop multi-service projects benefiting underserved communities and new developments. These projects bring together dark fibre, FTTH, and right-sized antenna deployments to build future-proof carrier-neutral solutions that benefit municipalities, carriers and users. Brian has a background in broadcast television and managing lit fibre services for major league sports.
Peggy Chen is a Project Accounting Analyst in SharedTower. In this role, Peggy manages AP tracking sheets and reconciliations, process quotes, POs, invoices. Ensure financial closeout for completed projects and maintain different spreadsheets to track lease, fees and cash flows.
Prior to joining Shared Tower, Peggy worked as a senior financial analyst in Intel and management accountant in several other US invested manufacturing companies in electronics, plantation and flooring industry, she also worked in non-profit organizations. She has more than 20 years working experience in the financial and accounting area.
Peggy is a retired member of ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants in Great Britain) and retired CPA (Certified Public Accountant) of Canada, she holds a master’s degree in corporate finance. She is experienced with financial operation and financial reporting, familiar with financial software and ERP operating systems. Peggy loves numbers and enjoys using spreadsheets (both excel and google sheets) to facilitate financial and accounting work.
Tom’s focus is on network transmission, leading the design and implementation of fibre expansion projects for all development projects, with a focus on Eastern Canada (Tom is based out of New Brunswick). Tom has 28 years of deep experience in the telecommunications, wireline and fixed wireless industries. Prior to Shared Tower, Tom successfully launched two telecommunications companies (Wireless ISP and a Non-Dominant Carrier). He is client focused, driving new opportunities and strategies for innovative fibre solutions.
Stacey Barbosa is Real Estate Administrator and Coordinator at Shared Tower. In this role, Stacey implements and manages the systems required to streamline the real estate and municipal affairs of Shared Tower. Prior to joining Shared Tower, Stacey worked in sales management at a major retail company. In 2023, Stacey graduated with a degree in Business Administration from the University of Guelph.
